Jungleland, USA celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the legendary tourist attraction that put Thousand Oaks on the map. Jungleland was home to animal stars of the silver screen like Tamba the Chimp and Leo the MGM Lion, and featured animal trainer Mabel Stark.

Celebrating 34 Years of Volunteer Service
After 34 years of dedicated service, Merle Oberg is retiring from his position as Research Library and Archives Docent but plans to visit frequently in his Emeritus status.
Since 1992, Merle has been an invaluable resource, particularly for his expertise in Ventura County geography and the Museum’s map collection. His many contributions include cataloging maps, completing a biographical index with more than 19,000 entries, compiling historical directories, and assisting hundreds of researchers.
Thank you, Merle, for 34 remarkable years of service and for helping preserve Ventura County’s history!
