SANTA MARIA — Allan Hancock College is helping local students and healthcare professionals take the next step in their careers with two upcoming program application deadlines — including the college’s new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Pathway, developed in partnership with California State University, Channel Islands (CSUCI), and the spring 2026 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) academy.
BSN Pathway
The first deadline, Nov. 1, is for the college’s new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Pathway Program, offered in partnership with CSUCI. This innovative program makes it easier and more affordable than ever for nursing students and working registered nurses to earn their bachelor’s degree.
Through the BSN Pathway, students can complete their degree right here at Allan Hancock College while continuing to live and work in their community. The program offers a streamlined, stress-free transfer process exclusively for Hancock nursing students, 100% asynchronous online courses taught by CSUCI faculty with flexible learning support and a waived $70 Cal State Apply application fee for Hancock students and alumni.
The spring admission application is open now through Nov. 1, and the summer admission application period runs Dec. 1 through March 31. The program is open to all ADN-eligible and RN students who meet admission requirements.
Students can apply at www.calstate.edu/apply or learn more at http://go.csuci.edu/nursingt2. Questions may be directed to (805) 437-2748 or ext@csuci.edu.
EMT Program
In addition, Hancock’s Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program is now accepting applications for the spring 2026 academy, which runs Jan. 20–May 22, 2026. Applications close Nov. 15 at 11 p.m.
The program prepares students to provide essential, life-saving care in emergency situations. Participants receive hands-on training in key procedures such as managing airways, establishing vascular access and controlling bleeding, as well as collaborating with fire and law enforcement partners.
The program will accept 36 students, and applicants are encouraged to apply early. To qualify, students must complete or plan to complete EMS 306 (CPR for Healthcare Professionals) and EMS 300 (EMS Pre-Academy) prior to the start of the academy.
