Oxnard City Council on Nov. 8 to discuss Spanish-language broadcast

Oxnard City Councilmember Carmen Ramirez distributed the following information regarding the 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 meeting focusing on simultaneous broadcast in Spanish of Oxnard City Council meeting:

“To people who care about the people of Oxnard — Approximately 30% of Oxnard’s homes are Spanish-speaking.  These members of our community need information about  our civic life,  responsibilities and opportunities. Translation of this basic forum for democracy,  City Council Meetings, will help everyone understand what we need to do for our children,  crime prevention, fire prevention, water conservation, our environment, and more. Your support is needed to make this happen for Oxnard. Please come and speak at the meeting or if you cannot be there please send an e mail or call my fellow council members and the mayor.”
