SIMI VALLEY — The indoor pools at YMCAs in Simi Valley and Westlake Village are now open.

The Simi Valley Family YMCA and Yarrow Family YMCA pools have been closed since last March. Both YMCAs are now offering aquatic group classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lap lanes are open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at the Simi Y and 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Yarrow Y.

“We hope to expand classes and hours in the coming weeks,” says Brigitte Bonafant, Aquatics and Safety Director at the YMCA . “If all goes well, we anticipate swim lessons and family swim time being available in early May.”

Swimmers must be 18 or older and bring their own towels. Locker rooms and showers are not available. Each swimmer will go through a health screening prior to entering the building and must wear face coverings when not in the pool.

Online reservations are required. For more information on membership, class times, lap pool availability and how to download a reservations app, go to https://virtual.sevymca.org/pool-information. Members can also make class or lap pool reservations by calling 805-204-0047, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by emailing reservations@sevymca.org with reservation requests including the YMCA location (a confirmation email will be sent if space is available).

Its mission is to build relationships, impact lives and strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The three Southeast Ventura County YMCA branches are Yarrow Family YMCA (serving Agoura Hills, Westlake Village and Oak Park) Conejo Valley YMCA (serving Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Moorpark and the Santa Rosa Valley) and Simi Valley Family YMCA (serving Simi Valley). The branches served over 20,500 residents last year including more than 7,000 who were able to participate because of money raised during the annual support campaign. https://www.sevymca.org
