CENTRAL COAST — As the effects of COVID-19 continue to emerge,
Peoples’ Self-Help Housing (PSHH) has enhanced their resident services. With a portfolio of over 52 properties, PSHH support over 5,000 residents daily.
“Our services are vital, especially during this unprecedented time” said PSHH President & CEO John Fowler. “We are committed to continuing our work, while taking measures to protect the health and safety of our residents and employees.”
Peoples’ Self-Help Housing’s Education Program has shifted to an online, distance-learning model, which allows students of all ages the opportunity to continue receiving after-school and college prep programming. In addition, staff are delivering over 400 meals daily to residents in-need throughout the Central Coast. Social Workers are making daily wellness calls to residents and working with partnering organizations for supplemental programs and services.
PSHH construction also continues to move forward, with everyone on-site maintaining safe social distancing. Mission Gardens, a self-help home project in San Miguel, is nearing completion, with hopes of providing keys to homeowners as soon as possible. Construction at Sierra Madre Cottages in Santa Maria and Guadalupe Court in Guadalupe is moving forward, with hopes of grand openings later this year.
