Carmen Guerrero, Javier Gomez and Art Hernandez are among a group of educators selected as winners of El Concilio de Condado de Ventura’s 2011 Latino Leadership Awards to be presented March 26 in Oxnard
The awards focus this year on educators who make a difference in the community.
The award winners include Guerrero, dean of Career & Technical Education at Oxnard College; Gomez, founder of the Inlakech Cultural Arts Center in Oxnard; Ventura County Community College District Trustee Art Hernandez; Elmelda P. Almanza of the Oxnard School District; Fundi Legohn of Oxnard High School; Alez Rivera of Ventura College, Lupe Murillo of Pacifica High School; Josph M. Medina of California State University, Northridge; and Pilar Pacheco of California State University, Channel Islands.
