SANTA PAULA — The City of Santa Paula Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting applications for a volunteer caretaker at Harding Park. The opportunity includes use of a City-owned, two-bedroom residence located on the park property in exchange for assisting with routine park upkeep, maintenance, and oversight.

The City is seeking a responsible, dependable, and community-minded individual or household to help maintain Harding Park as a clean, safe, and welcoming community space. Responsibilities may include assisting with park and sports field maintenance, reporting facility concerns, and providing a regular on-site presence.

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a City employment position. The selected caretaker will be provided housing in exchange for agreed-upon responsibilities, subject to a separate written caretaker agreement. Applicants will undergo a review and interview process, with final selection subject to City Council approval.

Interested individuals are encouraged to complete the Harding Park Caretaker Volunteer Application and submit it by Monday, November 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Completed applications may be submitted through either of the following methods:

  • In Person: Deliver in a sealed envelope addressed to the Parks & Recreation Director at the Santa Paula Community Center, 530 W. Main Street, Santa Paula, CA 93060.
  • Email: Send directly to gbarnes@santapaula.gov

Applications are being accepted immediately. Additional information regarding caretaker responsibilities, qualifications, and the selection process is available in the Harding Park Caretaker Volunteer Application.
