CAMARILLO — Representatives from over 40 charities across Ventura County gathered to celebrate community along with the hard-working ladies of the Meadowlark Service League for a special “Breakfast of Champions” on Thursday, June 4th at the Las Posas Country Club.

The charities that are supported by the Meadowlark Service League impact the elderly, youth/children, the arts, the homeless, the disabled, veterans, hospice, health, feeding the needy, community services, and education. In addition, $10,000 in scholarships were given to new and continuing college students.

In addition to the fund distribution, Meadowlarks class of provisional members officially became active members, and invite any interested community-minded women throughout Ventura County to apply to join this incredible group. Go to meadowlarkserviceleague.org to learn more!

The funds raised by the Meadowlark Service League are earned through hosting two annual events: The Spring Luncheon & Tennis or Pickleball Tournament each March, as well as the premier event of the Summer: A Taste of Camarillo Wine, Brew & Food Festival.  The Taste of Camarillo is the longest running wine and food event in Ventura County, and includes a host of local restaurants, wineries, breweries, and craft spirits along with live music, dancing, and boutique shopping. The Taste is held on the last Sunday of each July on the tree-shaded grounds of the historic Camarillo Ranch House. This year’s Taste is themed “Bohemian Rhapsody” and will be held on Sunday, July 26, from 1-4, with the return of the “Golden Ticket,” which allows for early entry for ticket holders at noon. Tickets are available online at tasteofcamarillo.com.
