Meadowlark Service League Hosts a Spring Charity Luncheon and Tennis & Pickleball Tournament

Join the Meadowlark Service League (Meadowlarks) at Las Posas Country Club on Monday, March 6th, for their annual Spring Charity Luncheon, accompanied by a Tennis and Pickleball Tournament, as well as Silent and Live Auctions.  The boutique features a great variety of vendors and is open to the public at no cost.

The ladies of the Meadowlark have been working hard to continue to create opportunities to raise funds that benefit the many charities that our events support. “This is the 25th anniversary of the Charity Luncheon and Tournament and it continues to give the women of Ventura County a chance to enjoy friendships, sport and special time to themselves,” noted longtime Meadowlark member and event chair, Gwen Speakes, “and we are so excited to host this year’s fun event.  Join us for “Magical Moments.”

Meadowlark Service League Distributes $180,000 in funds to local Nonprofit Organizations

Despite the challenges of past year’s pandemic closures, the Meadowlark Service League was able to raise $180,000 to support several local nonprofit organizations, as well as continuing to fund several scholarships for local students. Earlier this month, the dedicated service organization hosted their annual luncheon celebrating the work that so many nonprofits do around our region, and enjoyed a day that “felt like a return to normal,” according to President Linda Hardy, “as this event is the reason that we work so hard all year. The funds distribution luncheon is like wind in our sails as Meadowlarks, and connects us directly to those who benefit from the hard work we do all year.”

Meadowlark Service League Annual Giving to award grants

Meadowlark Service League Annual Giving will award grants to 24 local Ventura County charities and 25 college scholarships this June.  The annual celebration luncheon was cancelled due to Covid-19, but the grants will still be awarded to the recipient charities and students.  Meadowlarks raised $180,000 to support our community this year.  This small group of less than 20 active members, plus it’s generous supporting members, planned and executed 3 major fundraisers for the 2019/2020 Giving.  A full list of the grant recipients is provided below.
