Service Alert for GCTD Passengers: Service changes start Sunday, July 6, 2025

OXNARD — Gold Coast Transit District (GCTD) will implement biannual service changes on Sunday, July 6, 2025. The service adjustments are designed to enhance travel efficiency and address overcrowding due to increased ridership. Effective January 6, 2025, through January 3, 2026, these updates are part of GCTD’s commitment to providing a safe, reliable, and convenient transit experience for all passengers.

The following is a summary of the key schedule adjustments:

  • Schedule Modifications:
    • Route 11: Modified weekday schedule with trips every 30 minutes throughout the day.
    • Route 15: Modified weekday schedule with hourly frequency throughout the day.
  • Minor Changes: Weekday adjustments on Routes 1A, 4A, 4B, 6, 17, 19, 21 and weekend adjustments on Routes 1B, 3, 6, 8, 15, 21.
  • Bus Stop Changes: Bus stop changes involve the removal, relocation, or addition of stops to improve operational efficiency, reduce travel time, and enhance service reliability. In this cycle, the following changes will be implemented:
      • Relocation: Victoria and Ralston Stop (southbound) will be moved closer to the intersection. Affects Routes 6, 21.
      • New Timepoint: New timepoint at Victoria and Hemlock will replace the timepoint at Victoria and Wooley in both directions.  Affects Route 21.
      • Removal: The following stops will no longer be served:

Telegraph and Baylor – Routes 6, 10, 21

Telegraph and West Campus – Routes 6, 10, 21

Highway 33 and Oak Dell  – Route 16, both directions

  • No Changes: Routes 2, 5, 7, 8, 10, 16, and 23.

These service updates reflect GCTD’s ongoing efforts to meet the needs of its passengers and improve overall transit experiences.

Printed schedules, “Bus Books,” are available now on all buses, online, and at various locations around the county. For paying passengers, the use of prepaid mobile payments to pay the fare is strongly encouraged. GCTD will continue to offer free rides for seniors over 75, college students and youth under 18 years old.  Reduced fares (1/2 off) are available for seniors 65 and over.
