CAMARILLO — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County (BBSVC), a youth mentoring organization which serves over 1,000 youth in the agency’s mentoring programs annually, celebrated the 50th anniversary of the annual BBSVC Golf Classic on Monday, May 8. Through sponsorships, donations, auctions, and more, the tournament at Spanish Hills Club (Camarillo) raised over $150,000, with additional funds continuing to come in through the event’s active mobile auction platform. The Golf Classic raises the much-needed funds to help change the trajectory of youth facing adversity in Ventura County by creating lifelong mentoring friendships.

In celebration of 50 years, there were course offerings at all 18 tees, which included: a course contest package with highly coveted prizes such as a new car from Gold Coast Acura and cash prizes from both Roman Kisz, AAMS™ – Edward Jones and Cappuccino Insurance were being offered, Starbucks, Wonderful Company refreshments, fun games, and much more! Tacos for lunch and a selfie booth from 805 Selfie were also available to Golfers. The tournament concluded with a 50th Anniversary After-Party, where guests enjoyed live music by the CRV Band, an outdoor dinner, prizes and awards from their time on the green, soft serve ice cream from Mister Softee, and more! Golfers and their guests had access to a mobile auction, where several amazing items such as an electric golf caddy, a vacation to Mexico, and a Vilano inflatable paddle board were available for auction.

BBSVC would like to extend special thanks to the event chairs Chris McMorran and Kathy Sottile, the event committee, and the many sponsors like Wheelhouse, First Bank, Fence Factory, Artes Capital, Cleure, & Toyota of Thousand Oaks and guests who helped shape BBSVC’s 50th Golf Classic to be a truly amazing celebration. “The Golf Classic continues to be an exceptional celebration for BBSVC, thanks to the event’s founding family – the Pavin Family – and a committed group of volunteers,” says CEO Danica Selvaggio. “With the support that the Golf Classic builds, we’re able to ensure that our youth mentoring programs remain free of cost to youth and families across Ventura County! BBSVC has the deepest gratitude for everyone who came together to celebrate this anniversary event and make it the success that it was.”
