AMAE Honors Outstanding Graduating Seniors

OXNARD — The Association of Mexican American Educators (AMAE), Oxnard Chapter, is proud to honor two outstanding high school seniors for their academic and community accomplishments.  Honorees are Jazmine Lucente, student at Adolfo Camarillo High School, and Kassandra Barragan, student at Pacifica High School.  Honorees received AMAE’s 2019 scholarship.  The Scholarship Committee praised students for their commitment and dedication to continue their higher education.

Graduating seniors from the Oxnard Union High School District were invited to apply.  AMAE has been active in encouraging students to pursue a college education and to assume roles of leadership in our communities.   AMAE encourages students, especially those interested in the field of education, to apply for one of our scholarships.

The mission of the AMAE is to ensure equal access to a quality education at all levels for the Mexican American/Latino students where cultural and linguistic diversity is recognized and respected. AMAE advises state/local boards and legislators, administrators and faculty and work in partnership with the community and parents for the benefit of our students. AMAE advocates the immediate recruitment, training, retention, support, and professional development of Mexican American/Latino educators and others committed to the education of our students.
