AGOURA HILLS — Driven by a need and passion to serve others, long-time contributor to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley, and local philanthropist, Linda Catlin now assumes the position of Board Chairman for the organization.
Catlin’s participation in the Boys & Girls Clubs dates back to 2008 when she served as a board member, and later was tapped for the annual Gala Chair. In addition to volunteering, Catlin and her husband, David, made a significant contribution to expand the former Lindero Club, which was later named the Linda & David Catlin Boys & Girls Club.
Catlin’s energetic personality is contagious to others creating enthusiasm among her peers to take a stand, make a difference and stand up for those in need. Having an extensive background in early childhood development, Catlin knows first-hand the important role the Boys & Girls Clubs play in the community in helping foster the growth of children in the formative years.
“I am so pleased to be part of the Boys & Girls Clubs that make such an important impact on youth,” stated Linda Catlin. “Of all the gifts of money, goods and treasure, what people long to be remembered for is the gift of giving,” she continued. “As Board Chair, I look forward to continuing that gift of volunteerism and will encourage others to do the same,” she added.
Linda & David Catlin reside in Westlake Village and have four sons and eight grandchildren. Linda Catlin graduated from UCLA with an honors degree in Early Childhood Education and taught elementary school students for 13 years. She also ran a program for gifted children at the Warner Avenue School in Westwood.
Over the years, Catlin’s philosophy remains the same, “The more you give of yourself and your resources, the greater your personal satisfaction.”
