The Carnegie and CAM Studio will be CLOSED Saturday, November 11 for Veteran’s Day. But, don’t miss the exhibition next door We Remember — Ventura County to Vietnam and Back,’ a multimedia display focusing on local veterans, located at the former Social Security building in downtown Oxnard, 327 W. Fifth St. open Wednesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 19. Admission is free.

Building Blocks of Art classes explore the tools artists use to build works of art, from line to texture and everything in between. In each session, students are introduced to one or two building blocks and a different technique inspired by the current exhibits.

Collecting/California Latino Art
Selected works of California Latino art from the Carnegie’s Collection will be shown including the 21ft History of the Chicano Movimiento by Frank Romero, recently returned from his retrospective at the Museum of Latin American Art, Long Beach. Carnegie’s focus on collecting Latino Art began in 1994 with a group exhibition curated by Frank Romero.
The Fall exhibits honor, but are not a part of, the Getty’s Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA ambitious exploration of Latin American and Latino Art in LA being exhibited at art institutions throughout Southern California
