| Dear Community Members,
E-bike safety continues to be a priority for me, particularly as more young people ride e-bikes to travel to school and throughout our communities.
Earlier this year, I initiated a countywide review of e-bike safety strategies, bringing together law enforcement, educators, public health officials, and community partners. This month, the E-Bike Safety Task Force presented its findings and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.
The recommendations include expanding student safety education and certification programs, strengthening enforcement, exploring alternatives to penalties through safety courses, and launching a countywide public awareness campaign.
Our goal is simple: protect riders, pedestrians, and motorists while encouraging responsible e-bike use.
