PREPARE FOR THE STORM:

EDC’S FLOOD PREPAREDNESS CHECKLIST

As California approaches the winter storm season, Economic Development Collaborative (EDC) encourages businesses and community partners to take proactive steps to prepare for potential flooding and severe weather. With the possibility of heavy rainfall, atmospheric river storms, and flooding this winter, preparing now can make a meaningful difference in protecting your employees, property and operations.

To help businesses plan ahead, EDC has developed a Flood Preparedness Checklist featuring 20 practical steps, including:

  • 10 steps to protect your business
  • 10 steps to protect and support your employees before and during severe weather

Visit EDC’s updated Disaster Recovery Resources page to download the checklist and explore additional tools and guidance, including local emergency and disaster services, post-disaster recovery recommendations, and general disaster recovery resources.

EDC’s Disaster Recovery page and all its contents are intended to be used as a starting point to help business owners obtain up-to-date information on disaster recovery resources and requirements in the Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles region. It is not comprehensive. While everything on this page is intended to be accurate, it is not intended legal advice and should not be relied on as such.
