November at the Santa Paula Art Museum

November at SPAM

The year is swiftly coming to a close, but we’ve saved some of our best events for last! In November, don’t miss the premiere of Jim Wilson’s solo exhibition, our Día de los Muertos Free Family Day, downtown Santa Paula’s Holiday Sip & Shop, and more. (It’s also a great time to make a tax-deductible year-end donation to support the Museum!)

Jim Wilson: Looking Back and Looking Forward

Saturday, November 14, from 4 PM to 6 PM

$5 SPAM members, $10 Non-members

Geometry was admittedly not our strongest subject in school, but the way Tehachapi painter Jim Wilson wields it has us seeing it in a whole new light. In Looking Back and Looking Forward, his solo exhibition opening November 14, Wilson surveys his last 40 years of painting through 40 works of art.

Working in acrylic and drawn to the geometric beauty of circles, lines, and arcs, Wilson moves between realism and geometric abstraction, often combining elements of both to form compositions that are carefully measured yet visually striking.

Meet the artist and be the first to see the show on Saturday, November 14! Jim Wilson: Looking Back and Looking Forward will be on view from November 14, 2026, to March 7, 2027. Almost all of the paintings will be available for purchase.
