THOUSAND OAKS — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley have taken the first step to begin construction of the John L. Notter Family Boys & Girls Club in Thousand Oaks. The Boys & Girls Clubs recently signed a contract with Viola Contractors for the expansion of the club located on the Redwood Middle School campus, 233 W. Gainsborough Road.

The club will be expanded to 8,000 square feet and will enable the Boys & Girls Club to increase the number of students it serves from 100 to a minimum of 250 daily. In addition to accommodating additional students, the new club will also provide more opportunities for added programs in addition to space for a multi-purpose room, and space to accommodate dance, choir and indoor sports. The expanded club will also allow for study areas and a designated space for cooking classes & preparation. The projected completion of the new club is scheduled for the fall 2018.
