LOMPOC — The Lompoc Family YMCA, a branch of the Channel Islands YMCA, is proud to announce the appointment of Susan Long to the position of Branch Manager.

Long has been involved with the Y for many years, initially as a volunteer. Most recently, she held the position of Operations Director of the YMCA of San Joaquin County in Stockton, Calif.

”Susan’s time with the Y has given her the opportunity to work in nearly every department, bringing deep insights to our programs and our cause,” said Sal Cisneros, President and CEO of the Channel Islands YMCA. “She will be an excellent leader at the Lompoc Family YMCA with her program expertise, commitment to exceptional results, and collaborative attitude.”

Long’s career began with the Y in Mesa, Arizona as a Senior Program Director where she led a variety of youth outreach programs. One such program was the National Youth Project Using Minibikes, which focused on reaching at-risk youth by providing a fun outdoor experience riding off-road motorcycles.

Susan has a B.S. in Justice Studies from Arizona State University and is certified as a YMCA Multi-Team Leader. She has obtained several other YMCA certifications during her time in the Y Movement.
