Event will feature Lynnzee Fraye, Wax Owls and Kabwasa
MOORPARK — Moorpark College and the Moorpark College Foundation will kick off a year of celebrations marking the college’s 60th anniversary with Moorpark College Serenades: The Premiere, a free outdoor concert on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 4–6 p.m.
Presented in collaboration with Sofar Sounds, the event offers students, employees, alumni, friends and community members an opportunity to experience live music together on campus against the backdrop of the Santa Susana Mountains.
The evening’s featured artists are Lynnzee Fraye, performing pop, R&B and folk; Wax Owls, performing indie and folk; and Kabwasa, whose music blends R&B, soul and funk.
The concert will also introduce the community to The Stage at Moorpark College, the college’s new temporary outdoor amphitheater, which will provide a dedicated setting for outdoor gatherings and performances.
In keeping with the relaxed outdoor setting of The Stage, the event will feature lawn seating, and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Guests are welcome to bring their own food, or they may purchase food from the food truck on site. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Beer and wine will be available for purchase for guests ages 21 and older with valid identification. All onsite purchases will be cashless.
