Free, all-ages community event will feature wellness workshops, a men’s mental health panel, art, music, sound healing, food, cultural experiences, local vendors, and community resources at Heritage Square
OXNARD— El Jardín: A Community Wellness Pachanga returns for its 2nd Annual Community Wellness Gathering on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Heritage Square, 715 S. A Street in Oxnard.
This free, all-ages event is designed to create a welcoming and culturally grounded space for community healing, connection, creativity, and collective care.
Rooted in the spirit of community, culture, and wellness, El Jardín brings together local residents, wellness practitioners, resource providers, artists, food vendors, performers, and small businesses for a day centered around conversations, wellness workshops, art, music, food, movement, expression, and gathering.
This year’s theme, “What We Carry / Lo Que Cargamos,” invites the community to reflect on the visible and invisible experiences, stories, emotions, histories, responsibilities, grief, strength, and resilience that people carry individually and collectively. Through art, movement, conversation, sound, and cultural expression, El Jardín will create space to acknowledge what is carried, honor what has shaped us, and explore pathways toward healing, release, and connection.
“El Jardín is about creating space for people to feel seen, supported, and connected,” said Patricia Cortez Washington, LCSW, Founder and Director of El Jardín: A Community Wellness Gathering. “Our hope is that community members leave feeling nourished, grounded, and reminded that wellness can be joyful, creative, culturally rooted, and shared.”
This year’s gathering will feature a variety of wellness and cultural experiences throughout Heritage Square, including conversations, workshops, an art exhibition, poetry, dance, movement, music, local food, community resources, and retail vendors.
Programming will include a keynote by Dra. Corazon, a Men’s Mental Health Panel, the Apapacho Círculo led by Alex Purple, men’s meditation circle, Lo Que Cargamos Art Exhibition, led by Art Director Alfredo Gonzalez, community drumming circle and cacao practice, sound baths, conversations and for parents and families.. The Main Square will feature Emcee Ali Cortes, poetry by Jesus Noyola, performances by Alias Dance Fam Minis and Undeclared, and Danza Chicomecoatl .
Food vendors scheduled to participate include JK Catering, Lumpias & More, and Heritage Coffee featuring a signature drink for the occasion. Retail and wellness vendors include Corazon Mixteco, Ulalia’s Creations, Be Leaf, Rise and Shine Plants, Sassy Limonas Bookshop, Apothecary for the People, Chapter 30 Creative Studios, Angie’s Anime, Unique Hats by Alex, Flor de Mayo /Ita Vixi, Lupita’s Art Shop, Amor a Las Suculentas, FemDustry, Semillas Counseling & Wellness, and Sol Vintage y Más.
Community resource partners include Ventura County Behavioral Health Wellness on Wheels, Alignment Health, Mission Home Health, Promotoras y Promotores Foundation, Latino Outdoors Ventura, and VC Plant Swap.
Last year’s inaugural El Jardín gathering welcomed 500 community members and brought together partners including Ventura County Mobile Mental Health, MICOP, NAMI, OPAC, Bell Arts Factory, Head Start, and Youth Equity Initiative. Last year’s event offered free, culturally rooted wellness experiences such as art-making, weaving, sound baths, yoga, storytelling, bilingual children’s programming, community care kits, and a live stream to expand access.
This year’s event is made possible with support from Ventura County Behavioral Health, Semillas Counseling & Wellness, Solo Reprographics, Gold Coast Broadcasting, All Things 805, FemDustry, Selfiebooth805, Primo Water, Dillon Productions, Inez Knows and Kenneth Earl Photography. Funding is provided by Ventura County Behavioral Health, Mental Health Services Act.
