It’s Animal Shelter Appreciation Week
The people in shelters are also community champions, educating the public about responsible pet ownership, promoting spay/neuter programs, and working tirelessly to reduce pet overpopulation. Whether it’s staying late to comfort a frightened animal, organizing adoption events, or collaborating with local organizations to assist pet owners in need, the human touch turns a shelter into a hub of kindness and advocacy. Their work makes the shelter much more than a facility—it becomes a beacon of hope and a critical resource that strengthens the bond between animals and the community. The first full week of November is recognized as Animal Shelter Appreciation Week. Let’s take a moment to recognize the incredible dedication and hard work of the staff and volunteers serving pets and people across the County. Thank you!
