Community celebration at the Museum of Ventura County will honor WEV’s legacy through the stories and achievements of 35 local businesses.
VENTURA — Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV) will celebrate 35 years of empowering women and strengthening local economies with its 35 for 35 Business Showcase on Tuesday, December 8, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Museum of Ventura County. Open to the public, the event will spotlight 35 WEV-supported businesses and bring together entrepreneurs, supporters, and community members to celebrate the people and partnerships that have shaped WEV’s legacy since 1991.
For 35 years, WEV has helped women build the knowledge, confidence, and connections to pursue entrepreneurship and greater financial independence. Behind that work are generations of business owners who have turned ideas into livelihoods, created jobs, supported their families, and contributed to the vitality of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. The showcase will bring that legacy to life through the businesses and people at its heart.
“WEV’s legacy lives in the women who have taken a chance on an idea, invested in themselves, and built something that strengthens their families and communities”, said Ashley Goldstein, Director of Programs at WEV. “This celebration honors their determination and the community that has supported them. As we look toward the next 35 years, we want more women to have the resources and opportunities to shape their own economic futures.”
The 35 featured businesses will represent current and former WEV clients, offering a window into the entrepreneurial journeys that define the organization’s impact. Guests will have opportunities to meet business owners, learn about their products and services, hear their stories, and make connections with the local entrepreneurs helping our region thrive. Attendees can also support participating businesses by shopping and exploring their offerings.
The gathering will recognize the broader community behind WEV’s work; including advisors, instructors, donors, partners, and advocates whose commitment has helped entrepreneurs access education, guidance, and financial resources. It will be an opportunity to reflect on what that collective investment has made possible and build momentum for the years ahead.
Community members are invited to join WEV on December 8 to celebrate 35 years of entrepreneurial achievement, support local businesses, and help carry forward a shared vision of economic opportunity for women.
