VENTURA COUNTY — Ventura County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters Michelle Ascencion announced the extension of the nomination period for the following offices that are scheduled to be voted on in the November 3, 2026 General Election. Per state law (CA Elec Code § 8027), the nomination period for the below offices is extended when an eligible incumbent officer does not file nomination papers before the August 7, 2026, 5:00 PM deadline.
Nominations for these offices have a five-day extension period that closes on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 5 PM:

Contests where the current officeholder has reached the term limit for that office do not go into extension. The nomination extension does not apply to incumbents who are now ineligible to run for the seat since they didn’t file during the regular nomination period.

CONDADO DE VENTURA – – Michelle Ascencion, secretaria-registradora y registradora de votantes del condado de Ventura, anunció la extension del periodo de nominación para los siguientes cargos que están programados para ser votados en las elecciones generales del 3 de noviembre de 2026. Según la ley estatal (Código Eleccional de California § 8027), el periodo de nominación para los cargos siguientes se amplía cuando un funcionario elegible no presenta los papeles de nominación antes de la fecha límite del 7 de agosto de 2026 a las 5:00pm.
