Thank you to all who joined us for the Grand Opening of Pismo Terrace! This development brings 50 new, affordable units for low-income households, formerly-homeless individuals, and transitional-age youth to call home.
Dear Friend,Although we are sometimes wisely counselled that it’s the journey that matters, not the destination, the start of football season gives those of us in the real estate development world a seasonal reminder that it’s getting it across the line that actually counts.
Some might argue that the metaphoric line is when the final piece of funding needed for the purchase of the land is secured, for others it might be the end of a protracted approvals and entitlements process. Our events team might say its when we together snap the classic “We did it!” ribbon cutting photo at the grand opening.
But there is a quieter, though no less celebrated moment, especially for the fortunate people involved, and that’s when we can take the next name off the wait list.

Thursday, October 3 | 1 – 2:30 pm | 1433 Calle Joaquin, San Luis Obispo
In partnership with the City of San Luis Obispo, People’s Self-Help Housing is developing the former Motel 6 located at 1433 Calle Joaquin. The project will bring 76 units to extremely low-income individuals who are unhoused or at risk of becoming unhoused.
Join us to celebrate more affordable housing coming to the city of San Luis Obispo! Light refreshments will follow the ceremony.
Congratulations to our newest group of residents who moved in to People’s Place this past month! The first PSHH property in the City of Santa Paula, People’s Place is a new development of 68 one-, two- and three-bedroom units, serving farmworkers and households earning 30-60% of the area median income.

Ensuring Resident Success
A senior, Aida*, had been unhoused for years before moving into her PSHH unit. Her transition from unhoused to housed was difficult.
With the help of her onsite social worker, Aida was signed up for financial assistance to help reduce her monthly bills. They also helped connect her with a caregiver through in-home supportive services to help her with tasks of daily living.
Aida is now safe, thriving and a beloved member of the PSHH community that she calls home!

Make your voice heard! Voting is a crucial way to influence our community’s future. Check your voter registration status and be prepared to vote by visiting sos.ca.gov/elections.

November 5: vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 12. They can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office.

Aunque a veces se nos aconseja sabiamente que lo que importa es el camino recorrido, no el destino, el comienzo de la temporada de fútbol nos da a los que estamos en el mundo del desarrollo inmobiliario un recordatorio estacional de que lo que realmente cuenta es cruzar la línea.
Algunos podrían argumentar que la línea metafórica es cuando se asegura la última parte de la financiación necesaria para la compra del terreno, para otros podría ser el final de un prolongado proceso de aprobaciones y títulos. Nuestro equipo de eventos podría decir que es cuando juntos tomamos la clásica foto del “¡lo logramos!” al cortar del listón en la gran inauguración.
Pero hay un momento más tranquilo, aunque no menos celebrado, especialmente para las personas afortunadas involucradas, y es cuando podemos borrar el siguiente nombre de la lista de espera.
Para mí, ahí es cuando siento que nuestro equipo realmente lo logró. ¡Espero que nos acompañe a celebrar más victorias por venir!

En asociación con la Ciudad de San Luis Obispo, People’s Self-Help Housing está desarrollando el antiguo Motel 6 ubicado en el 1433 de la calle Joaquín. El proyecto ofrecerá 76 unidades a personas de ingresos extremadamente bajos que no tienen hogar o corren el riesgo de quedarse sin hogar.
¡Acompáñenos para celebrar la llegada de más viviendas asequibles a la ciudad de San Luis Obispo! Después de la ceremonia habrá un peueño refrigerio.
¡Felicitaciones a nuestro nuevo grupo de residentes que se mudaron a People’s Place el mes pasado! People’s Place, la primera propiedad de PSHH en la ciudad de Santa Paula, es un nuevo desarrollo de 68 unidades de una, dos y tres habitaciones, que atiende a trabajadores agrícolas y a hogares cuyos ingresos oscilan entre el 30 y el 60% del ingreso medio del área.

Garantizando el éxito de los residentes
Aida*, una persona mayor, había estado sin hogar durante años antes de mudarse a su unidad con PSHH. Su transición de no tener hogar a tenerlo fue difícil.
Con la ayuda de la trabajadora social en la propiedad en la que reside, Aida se inscribió para recibir asistencia financiera para ayudar a reducir sus facturas mensuales. También la ayudaron a conectarse con un cuidador a través de servicios de apoyo en el hogar para que la asista con las tareas de la vida diaria.
¡Aida ahora está segura, próspera y es un miembro querido de la comunidad de PSHH a la que llama hogar!
