VENTURA — The Ventura County Board of Supervisors recently recognized twenty-five County of Ventura employees for their longstanding commitment to public service and whose careers collectively span 680 years. Celebrated during the Board of Supervisors regular meeting on Tuesday, August 18, the employees marked career milestones of 25, 30 and 35 years of employment with County agencies. Over the course of their careers, the employees have helped deliver essential services, respond to changing community needs, and provide the experience and expertise that keep County operations moving forward.
With each honoree marking at least 25 years of County service, their careers represent decades of institutional knowledge and commitment to public service that have helped shape the programs and services Ventura County residents rely on today.
“It is an honor to recognize the dedicated service of so many County employees who have devoted decades of their lives to serving our community,” said Chair of the Board Jeff Gorell. “Across Ventura County, these individuals provide the critical services residents rely on every day – from public safety and healthcare to social services, infrastructure, and environmental stewardship. Their professionalism, compassion, and commitment strengthen our communities and improve the quality of life for all who call Ventura County home. We are deeply grateful for their service and proud to recognize their lasting impact.”
The 25 employees recognized this quarter represent the Auditor-Controller’s Office, Department of Child Support Services, General Services Agency, Health Care Agency, Human Services Agency, Probation Agency, Public Works Agency, Resource Management Agency, Ventura County Fire Department. Collectively, the honorees bring nearly seven centuries of experience to County government. That experience not only strengthens the services residents receive today but also helps prepare the next generation of County employees through mentorship, shared knowledge, and leadership.
“Longtime employees carry with them an incredible depth of knowledge about our organization and the communities we serve,” said County Executive Officer Dr. Sevet Johnson. “Their contributions extend beyond the work they do each day. They help mentor colleagues, strengthen teams, and pass along knowledge that will continue benefiting the County well into the future. We are grateful for their many years of service.”
The County of Ventura’s Employee Continuous Service Recognition Program honors employees in five-year increments beginning at 25 years of service. The program recognizes the experience, commitment and public service of employees who have built long careers serving Ventura County residents.
