VENTURA COUNTY — AmericasHealth Plan, Inc. announced that Antonio Alatorre has been appointed the new CEO of the company. A proven leader with over thirty-seven years of progressive healthcare experience, Mr. Alatorre is anticipated to bring growth as well as operational and strategic results to his new role. As CEO of AHP, he will be primarily responsible for driving the company’s growth and deepening its relationships in order to develop and further grow AHP. The company’s vision is to become a leader in the healthcare industry through commitment to the well-being of AHP members and the success of AHP provider partners. Continuing his commitment to serving the community, Mr. Alatorre will further AHP’s goal to provide access to high-quality healthcare and ensure excellent outcomes for AHP members, including the underserved and disadvantaged patients in Ventura County.
As an integral member of Clinicas’s executive team for twenty years, Mr. Alatorre is well versed in the relationship building necessary to help an organization thrive. In addition to seeing to its operational success and growth, he has proven to be an advocate for Clinicas’s medically underserved patient population. During his time with Clinicas he helped build and develop AmericasHealth Plan, Inc. and MedPartners MSO, Inc. both subsidiaries of Clinicas del Camino Real, Inc. These for-profit corporations are fully owned by Clinicas and are aligned to expand throughout the Central Coast in the near future. His leadership, integrity, commitment to excellence, and deeply rooted knowledge of the community have helped develop Clinicas into the strong organization it is today.
In his career, Mr. Alatorre has worked in collaboration with non-profit and for-profit organizations, healthcare systems, medical groups, and hospitals. He has expertise in healthcare system operations, health care delivery, project management, quality of care improvement, and managed care. He has served as interim CEO for Clinicas del Camino Real, Inc. and AmericasHealth Plan, Inc. on several occasions. While at Clinicas del Camino Real, Inc., Mr. Alatorre held many instrumental roles and executed countless key projects. He has served on several State and National Community Health Center Association Committees and workgroups. Member of the National Center for Farmworker Health Board as previous Chair and current Board Member. Previous Chair and Current Member on the Ventura County Medi-Cal Managed Care Commission dba Gold Coast Health Plan.
Mr. Alatorre earned his Associates of Arts from Oxnard College in Business Management and a Bachelor’s in Operations/Systems Management from California State University Northridge.
Mr. Alatorre has begun his new role at AHP on February 1, 2022.
