Help the County Plan for Disasters – Share your feedback!

What hazards concern you most in Ventura County and what should we be doing now to prepare for them?

That’s what Ventura County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan is all about. Simply put, it’s a roadmap for identifying the disasters most likely to impact our communities and taking steps before they happen to reduce damage and protect the people, places and services we rely on. And we need your input!

Take our short survey by September 15th and tell us:

  • Which hazards concern you most?
  • What places, services and resources are most important to protect?
  • What do you think should be considered as we plan for future disasters?

Your feedback will help local agencies across Ventura County prioritize projects and strategies that can reduce risk and strengthen our communities.

Don’t Fall for False Property Tax Relief Claims

The Ventura County Assessor’s Office is warning seniors and all local property owners about false claims regarding programs that allegedly reduce or freeze property taxes.

Fraudulent online claims, social media posts and scam phone calls are encouraging property owners to file a non-existent federal IRS Form 1098-SR. NO SUCH FORM EXISTS AND THESE MESSAGES ARE NOT LEGITIMATE.

If money has been requested or paid, please report the incident to local law enforcement and the California Department of Justice.

Residents with questions about property tax relief claims should contact the Assessor’s Office directly at (805) 654-2181 or assessor.info@venturacounty.gov.
