WHAT: The County of Ventura invites the public to take part in upcoming Community Paint Days for the Moon Ditch Mural, a landmark public art project transforming a nearly mile-long flood control channel into one of the largest murals in the region. The mural explores the intersection of healthy environments, community connections, and how together they support mental health and wellbeing.
WHO: Community members ages 12 and up (all minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) will have the opportunity to work alongside the team of local artists and contribute directly to this highly visible and collaborative art installation.
Food and limited-edition t-shirts will be available for participants, courtesy of
project sponsors, while supplies last.

For residents who can’t make a community paint day, a special community workshop will be held at Vita Art Center (28 W Main St, Ventura, CA 93001) on May 2, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. to learn more about the mural and work collaboratively on a scaled version featuring the elements of the full design.
The Moon Ditch Mural is part of VibeWell Ventura County, a countywide initiative that uses arts and culture to support mental health and community wellbeing. The project is made possible through partnerships with County agencies, local arts organizations, and community sponsors committed to expanding access to creative experiences and supporting working artists.
