Association of Pacific Ports Winter Conference

Our Community Outreach Specialist Maripas Jacobo had the opportunity to share our S.P.E.E.D. (Sustainability, Prosperity, Education, Equity-Driven) initiative at the annual Association of Pacific Ports (APP) 2026 Winter Conference.

S.P.E.E.D. is a unique workforce development program that takes a whole family approach to expanding access to careers in the maritime and logistics industries. By partnering with local K-12 districts, community colleges, universities, trades, nonprofits, and others, the Port is deploying various programs to provide hands-on learning opportunities, skill development, and long-term career growth.

Maripas shared about how her team designed the program to meet the specific needs of our region to maximize its reach and make a lasting impact.

The Port hopes to inspire other ports along the Pacific Coast to take steps to uplift their surrounding communities through similar programs.

Anacapa Fresh Pallet Jack Donation

On Friday January 23rd, we celebrated with Navy Fleet Reserve Food Pantry as they received a new pallet jack donated by Anacapa Fresh Logistics. Oxnard Harbor District Commissioner Mary Ann Rooney was on the scene with the Port’s Chief Commercial Officer Stacy Lange to mark the occasion and highlight how this equipment will help volunteers safely move heavy loads to operate faster and get families the support they need when and where they need it. A big thank you to Anacapa Fresh Logistics!
