AMR Ventura County and Gold Coast Ambulance deliver exceptional response times, clinical innovation and community commitment
VENTURA COUNTY — Ahead of National First Responders Day on Oct. 28, American Medical Response (AMR) Ventura County along with affiliate Gold Coast Ambulance shared its 2024–2025 annual performance update, reflecting strong operational performance, new investments in innovation and workforce support, and deep engagement with the Ventura County community.
“Our AMR and Gold Coast Ambulance teams are comprised of supervisors, paramedics, EMTs, medical professionals and support staff that all contribute to the health and safety of our county,” said Mike Sanders, Regional Director of AMR Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. “We appreciate the County of Ventura for recognizing our entire first responder community, and we especially want to acknowledge and thank our crews for the important role they play in providing responsive, high-quality life-saving care.”
During the contract period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, the teams achieved excellent on-scene compliance, with a countywide average Code-3 response time of just 5 minutes and 40 seconds — measured from initial dispatch to arrival on scene. Each service area far exceeds the 90% County response time compliance requirements. This efficiency, coupled with a record number of ambulance hours deployed, reaffirms AMR and Gold Coast Ambulance’s commitment to rapid, reliable emergency response across Ventura County.
“Our teams’ professionalism, compassion and consistency continue to make Ventura County’s emergency response system one of the strongest in the state,” Sanders said. “We’ve expanded deployment, introduced advanced clinical tools and invested heavily in our employees — all without cost to taxpayers.”
Ventura County’s EMS system continues to lead with evidence-based innovation and advanced training, such as the addition of new equipment and technology, clinical studies and an emphasis on process modernization.
Plus, from CPR education to major event support, AMR and Gold Coast Ambulance contributed thousands of community service hours and participated in more than 60 local events, including National Night Out events, EMS training collaborations, local pride, health and safety fairs across Ventura County, and disaster response deployments supporting national emergencies.
“Our mission extends well beyond the 911 calls,” Sanders said. “We’re partners in the health, safety and career advancement of our Ventura County neighbors.”
Investing in its employees and their advancement opportunities, AMR’s Earn While You Learn (EWYL) program continues to prepare the next generation of paramedics through paid, on-the-job education. Over the course of the program, more than 50 local EMTs have received fully paid tuitions for paramedic school and have either completed or are finishing their paramedic training.
These enhancements and accomplishments reflect AMR and Gold Coast Ambulance’s deep commitment to serving Ventura County each and every day, in collaboration with the County’s first responders network.
