Student Success Story
Karla is a current high school junior and lives with her family at a PSHH property in San Luis Obispo County. Last fall, a friend invited her to join our education program and she immediately enrolled! The oldest of four, Karla will be the first in her family to go to college.During her initial meeting with her PSHH advisor, Karla and her parents were so engaged that it lasted almost two hours. They covered higher education curriculum requirements, enrichment courses, financial aid opportunities, what to expect for her senior year, college acceptance practices, and much more. Karla and her parents shared that they couldn’t believe they hadn’t signed-up sooner! |

Building Your Housing Vocabulary

?
In California, if a jurisdiction does not plan in its Housing Element for the number of homes required by the state through the Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA), the city has to approve any housing project as long as at least 20% of the homes are low-income or 100% of them are moderate-income.
