Earthquake Retrofit Grants Available for

Santa Barbara County

The California Earthquake Brace & Bolt program offers up to $3,000 to help residents strengthen their homes against earthquake damage. For the first time, it is open to all zip codes in Santa Barbara County and now includes non-owner-occupied rental properties. Applications are open through October 1.

$6.5 million project will complete an 8-mile multi-use path from Isla Vista to Arroyo Burro Beach, enhancing safety and connectivity for all.

Santa Barbara County Health aligns with state guidance to recommend COVID-19, flu, and RSV vaccines for a safer, healthier community this fall.

Back-to-School Fairs Are a Success

The County of Santa Barbara Health Department held its third annual Back-to-School Health Fairs at County Health Centers in Santa Maria, Lompoc, and Santa Barbara. Attendance this year exceeded that of the past two years, with 2,565 families receiving backpacks filled with school supplies and other necessities. The Health Centers conducted 38 sports physicals and provided immunizations to 33 patients, administering a total of 72 vaccine doses. Lompoc had the highest attendance.

County Health thanks all partners and supporters who made these events possible.

Did you know the County of Santa Barbara sells surplus items through an online auction? Surplus items are goods the County no longer needs, from used office furniture and electronics to landscaping equipment and cars. Click here to view and engage with listings.

By reusing and recirculating goods whenever possible, the County saves money and reduces waste.
