Trinity Pacific Wins State for 2nd Year in a Row
The Ventura County Office of Education is pleased to announce that a Ventura County team won first place in the 2025 California Mock Trial Finals that were held over the weekend in Los Angeles. Trinity Pacific Christian School in Thousand Oaks was named the 2025 California Mock Trial Finals Champions after the competition that included schools from throughout the state. This is the second consecutive year that Trinity Pacific has taken first place at the state level. The school also earned the top spot statewide in 2021. The Trinity Pacific team will now head to the National Mock Trial competition to be held from May 7 – 10 in Phoenix, Arizona. Trinity Pacific advanced to the state competition after taking first place in the Ventura County Mock Trial for the third year in a row.

More about the 2025 Ventura County Mock Trial
The Mock Trial competition is coordinated annually by the Ventura County Office of Education. The event brings courtroom drama to life as students take on the roles of participants in a criminal case, including attorneys, witnesses, bailiffs, and journalists. This year’s fictitious case is People v. Gold, which is about a city council candidate’s kidnapping. The students present their cases in real courtrooms before actual judges. Local attorneys volunteer to serve as scorers. The Ventura County Office of Education would like to thank Superior Court Judge Gilbert Romero and all of the volunteers whose contributions make Mock Trial such an engaging and impactful educational experience.
