People’s Place: Pre-Applications open today, Monday, March 18

New affordable housing coming to the City of Santa Paula

 

 VENTURA COUNTY – At 9AM on Monday, March 18, pre-applications will be available for People’s Place: new affordable housing from People’s Self-Help Housing (PSHH). The pre-application can be downloaded in English and Spanish at pshhc.org/PPL.

People’s Place, located at 714 West Harvard Boulevard in Santa Paula, is a new construction development of 68 one-, two- and three-bedroom units, which will serve families and farmworker households earning 30-60% of the area median income. Eligibility is based on income requirements, occupancy limits, and other property-specific criteria. Section 8 vouchers are welcomed.

On-site amenities include a community building with a kitchen for resident events, a multipurpose room, and three offices for onsite property management and services staff. The community building opens to an outdoor courtyard area with shaded seating, picnic tables, BBQs, and two playgrounds. All residents will have access to PSHH’s free, confidential supportive services.

They will be accepted through Monday, April 1. If mailed, the document must be postmarked by April 1, 2024. A randomized lottery will be conducted on the afternoon of Monday, April 8 to determine order of processing.
