In “The Virus Touch,” the global studies professor explores relationships between viruses, humans, animals and the environment to show how various forms of media — from news content to lab test results — create our understanding of epidemics.
“This project focuses on harnessing AI and XR to enhance human physical abilities,” Sra explained. “It is aimed at bringing AI technology out from two-dimensional screens into the real world, offering much needed support and guidance for learning and recovering motor skills.”
Mustafa Suleyman was the head of applied AI at Google before writing his latest book “The Coming Wave…” In a talk on campus, he will discuss challenges to AI and how his latest venture, InflectionAI, is keeping ethics and altruism as part of its goals.
Filmmaker Alejandro M. Flores Aguilar joins Giovanni Batz, of Chicana and Chicano studies, for a screening and discussion of this work in progress that examines the history of Indigenous resistance in the Ixil region of Guatemala.
