VENTURA COUNTY — Food Share, Ventura County’s largest hunger-relief organization, has been honored with a multitude of prestigious awards, solidifying its position as one of the county’s leading nonprofits.
The 73rd annual Oxnard Community & Business Awards, hosted by the West Ventura County Business Alliance, recognizes remarkable individuals, businesses, and organizations that contribute to making Oxnard a thriving place to live, work and play. Food Share was honored with the NonProfit of the Year award for its work in tackling food insecurity within the city, exemplified by the ongoing drive-thru food distributions that take place at College Park, Oxnard. Starting in April 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, the distributions are now in their third year and continue to draw large numbers, serving an estimated 4,000 people each week.
The recognition follows Food Share being named by the Pacific Coast Business Times as one of the 2023 Best Places to Work on the Central Coast. This is the third year in a row that Food Share has been honored. The publication conducts an annual survey among employees in the Tri-County area and then crunches the data to determine the best of the best.
Commenting on the award, Monica White, Food Share’s President and CEO, said, “I’m immensely grateful that this incredible, hard-working team chooses to use their many talents here at Food Share and so happy that they feel recognized and respected for the work they do.”
Food Share is also honored to have won a 2023 Gold Viddy Award in the long-form, non-broadcast category. The international competition, which celebrates video excellence in the digital realm, recognized Food Share’s impactful video shedding light on the experiences of individuals facing food insecurity in Ventura County. The Viddy Awards, formerly known as the Videographer Awards and administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), is judged by professionals from the industry who seek out exceptional talent and work that sets a benchmark for excellence. The winning video was a collaborative effort with local videographers, James & Jules Branaman.

CONDADO DE VENTURA – -Food Share, la organización de alivio del hambre más grande del condado de Ventura, ha sido galardonada con una multitud de prestigiosos premios, consolidando su posición como una de las principales organizaciones sin fines de lucro del condado.
La 73ª entrega anual de los Premios a la Comunidad y Negocios de Oxnard, organizada por la Alianza Comercial del Condado de West Ventura, reconoce a personas, empresas y organizaciones notables que contribuyen a hacer de Oxnard un lugar próspero para vivir, trabajar y divertirse. Food Share fue galardonada con el premio Organización sin fines de lucro del año por su trabajo para abordar la inseguridad alimentaria dentro de la ciudad, ejemplificado por las continuas distribuciones de alimentos desde el automóvil que se llevan a cabo en College Park, Oxnard.
