Love cupcakes? Can’t get enough cookies? Then Sweet Baking Co. is the place for you. A recent daily menu sampling revealed the following options: carrot cake, pumpkin spice cake, cake truffles, chocolate chip cookies, soft sugar cookies, edible cookie dough, stuffed crepes, and even keto cheesecake. If you’re having a hard time picking just one, Sweet Baking Co. offers 2-, 4-, 6-, and 12-pack cupcake boxes. Just make sure to remember their tempting doors are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Lompoc Donuts

Open daily from 5 a.m.–6 p.m.

Maybe donuts are your thing. Just a short stroll down H Street from Sweet Baking Co., you’ll find everything you could ever want at the charming Lompoc Donuts. This longtime Lompoc institution offers a wide range of traditional cake donuts, donut holes, bars, cinnamon rolls, stuffed sweet croissants, and more. Delicious breakfast croissant sandwiches are also available. In a hurry and can’t make it in? Lompoc Donuts delivers—and are even available on DoorDash.

Capulín Eats & Provisions

Open Tuesday through Thursday from 7 a.m.–4 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m.–5 p.m.

What can be better than time spent in Lompoc’s famed “wine ghetto”? A pre- and/or post-vino visit to nearby Capulín Eats & Provisions. Here, you can enjoy espresso, mocha, horchata, and an array of tasty coffee drinks. Along with a delicious Nutella Toastie (fresh-baked and toasted sourdough bread filled with Nutella, strawberries, and bananas), various desserts, breakfast treats, sandwiches, and more. Just remember this sweet shop is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Coastal Grindz Café

Open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30 a.m.–4 p.m.; Tuesday from 7:30–11 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

Life in laid-back Lompoc is anything but a…stressful grind. So take the name of this festive, fun, tropical-themed café with a grain of salt. Or maybe a spoonful of sugar. Coastal Grindz Café has become well-known in Lompoc for serving up tasty coffee, baked goods, and sandwiches seven days a week.

Eddie’s Grill

Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m.–9 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sunday from 11 a.m.–8 p.m.

It may be most readily known for serving super-juicy grilled hamburgers and cheeseburgers, but Eddie’s Grill also has a sterling reputation for whipping up the best milkshakes in Lompoc. One Room Escapes & Coffee

One Room Escapes & Coffee is not just a place for challenging escape room games and tasty coffee, but also a perfect spot to indulge in delightful desserts. This cozy café offers an extensive selection of sweet treats that will satisfy any sweet tooth cravings. From classic handmade cinnamon rolls and donuts to fruity scones and jumbo cookies, their desserts are made from high-quality ingredients and are crafted to perfection. And don’t forget their fresh-made syrups crafted onsite and used in their coffee drinks!

Fosters Freeze

Open daily from 10 a.m.–9 p.m. (opens at 11 a.m. on Sunday)

In business since 1946 and still boasting 66 locations, Fosters Freeze is a bit of an ice cream institution in Southern California. The Beach Boys’ hit song “Fun, Fun, Fun” was inspired by the Hawthorne location, and the Atwater Village shop appears in the cult classic film “Pulp Fiction.” In Lompoc, the local location is still as sweet as can be. “California’s original soft serve” always offers creamy, dreamy, super-soft ice cream concoctions that melt in your mouth. Soft-serve cones can also be hand-dipped, and milkshakes, sundaes, parfait, twisters, and freezes are all on the diverse, delicious menu here. Mmmmmmmm…
