Bilingual report — Economic Development Collaborative (EDC) — BEWARE of SBA Related Scams

PROTECT YOURSELF FROM SCAMS AND FRAUD
Recently, people have been receiving emails and/or calls from people claiming to be from the Small Business Administration offering “Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Forgiveness”.
EIDL loans CANNOT be forgiven and there is NO EIDL forgiveness program. Please be cautious of anyone reaching out claiming that they can provide loan forgiveness.
REMEMBER: DO NOT provide personal and financial data to anyone you don’t know!
Helpful Tips
  • SBA ONLY communicates from email addresses ending in @sba.gov. If you are being contacted by someone claiming to be from the SBA who is not using an official SBA email address, you should suspect fraud.
  • If you have questions about other SBA lending products, call SBA’s Answer Desk at 800.827.5722 or send an email to answerdesk@sba.gov.
  • Report fraud, waste, abuse or mismanagement of federal funds involving SBA programs, operations or personnel to the SBA OIG Hotline. Information collected through the Hotline helps keep the SBA OIG aware of risks and trends that affect the SBA’s programs. CLICK HERE for more information.
