Wednesday, March 30, and Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 6 PM to 9 PM each evening
$75 for two-part series
Time’s running out to register for teaching artist Roxanne Casas’ Ceramic Tile Two-Day Workshop at SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center! The two-part class will teach you ceramic essentials, like sculpting, painting, carving, and design. You’ll finish the workshop with an incredible self-portrait wall piece to take home. The cost of this two-part course is $75. All skill levels are welcome, and all supplies will be provided.

Four consecutive Saturdays in May starting May 7, 2022, from 11 AM to 2 PM each day
$145 for four-part series
What’s better than one amazing teaching artist? Two amazing teaching artists! Artist Jem Morris and SPAM Curator of Creativity Meg Phelps will lead this four-part deep dive into all things abstract. Examine and discuss abstract masterpieces, and then create your own! The cost of this four-part series is $145. All skill levels are welcome, and all supplies will be provided.

Ventura County Poet Laureate Emerita Mary Kay Rummel will lead SPAM’s first ever Write Night on Friday, May 13! Join us for an evening of creative writing and artistic reflection inspired by the Museum’s current exhibits featuring local artists John Robertson, Lynn Hanson, and Kay Zetlmaier. Light refreshments, paper, and pencils will be provided. Reservations are not required.

Premiere Party: Kay Zetlmaier’s Geomorphic: The Living Earth
Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 4 PM to 6 PM
Meet Ventura artist Kay Zetlmaier at the premiere of her solo exhibition, Geomorphic: The Living Earth, the first major showing of her foray into abstract painting. Using layers of oil and cold wax, Zetlmaier achieves surfaces rich in shape, texture, and color, which will leave you completely captivated. Geomorphic: The Living Earth will be on view May 14 through September 11, 2022.
