VENTURA COUNTY — With the all too familiar stay-at-home orders, many local organizations like FOOD Share and local advocate Carolina G. Magana, are helping those who are food insecure. To support them during this crucial time, Local PODS® Moving and Storage are offering their services to help with food distribution throughout the county.

As an instrumental piece in distributing food to Southwinds neighborhood for South Oxnard, Magana, has begun taking in drop-offs of nonperishable food and supplies from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in her garage amid the COVID-19 crisis. To help utilize space, a PODS Container was delivered along with installation of Gorilla Shelving were installed for floor-to ceiling space, to assist Magana for food and supplies storage.

“I receive pallets of food and a number of other supplies that has filled my garage to the brim!” said Magana. “The community is counting on these supplemental food donations and  I am so thankful to PODS for their amazing contribution to help with logistics and I feel truly blessed to receive such support in storing the food.”

In addition, Local PODS is celebrating 15 years of business by giving back by donating a percentage of each container sold all year and matching that donation to charities throughout the community. This past month, FOOD Share was chosen to receive the donation to help them serve the food insecure community.

“The work Carolina and FOOD Share is doing to help others is incredible,” said Steve Yapp, owner of Local PODS Moving and Storage. “PODS couldn’t be more thrilled to support our local heros who are so special in their efforts to continue providing food to the community during these hard times.”
