OXNARD — Visit Oxnard is putting a unique spin on the holiday season with a new ad recently launched on its social media channels.
The 30-second ad, filmed by local cinematographers, Steel Cut Productions, features a cast of familiar Oxnard faces including Oxnard Chief of Police, Scott Whitney, retired owner of River Ridge Golf Club, Otto Kanny, Rhythm of the Coast 99.1 FM disc jockey, Quentin Floyd and his family, and local musician, Patrick Shatter.
The concept is a spin on the classic holiday jingle, “Let it Snow” and pokes fun at the fact that the weather in Oxnard is anything but ‘frightful’ during the month of December. It ends with Chief Whitney being playful on a sunny day at Heritage Square, caught in a flurry of fake snow.
The ad is live at https://visitoxnard.com/oxnard-holidays, on YouTube and across Visit Oxnard’s social media platforms.
“This is a fun way to ring in the holidays, while reminding our visitors and locals that Oxnard makes for a great getaway all year long, including during the winter months,” stated Brittney Hendricks, Director of Marketing & Communications for Visit Oxnard.
