Teatro de las Américas presents the play “Too Many Tamales” (in both English and Spanish with supertitles).
Maria is an only child, who carries on conversations with her dolls and stuffed animals. Her cousins and their parents are visiting on Christmas Eve for the traditional sharing of homemade tamales. A grandmother from one family and a grandfather from the other unexpectedly show up. Drama, comedy, and music ensue as the children are mischievous, the stuffed animals make comments, and everyone breaks out in song.
