Buddhist Meditation is an ancient set of teachings, which enables the practitioner to connect body and mind in the moment with utmost loving-kindness to oneself and to the rest of the world Mindful and light physical movements are used to bring oneself to present moment.
Bhante (Reverend) Sutadhara, a Sri Lankan Buddhist monk whose training is based on Insight Meditation, will guide sessions with quiet time to practice the techniques individually in a relaxing setting surrounded by beautiful art.

Join two outstanding artists in the current The Imaginary exhibit for a rare chance to learn directly from the sources about their stunning art, context, processes, and techniques.Adonna Khare, a winner the world’s largest art competition ArtPrize, focuses on carbon pencil drawings and the environment. Her art has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, NPR, and Juxtapoz Magazine. Alexandra Manukyan studied art and art education in Armenia and has a BFA in graphic design from UCLA. Her extensive career in fashion and entertain laid further ground work for her fine art career creating traditionally rich, yet surreal figurative paintings suggestive of the perilous consequence of environmental destruction. Her works are widely exhibited and collected.
The Imaginary and its Gallery Talk are presented in partnership with TRAC2019-The Representational Art Conference- a California Lutheran University Arts Initiative Event.

Experience a fun afternoon of art! Family Day at the Carnegie Art Museum offers creative looking activities in the museum galleries, hands-on art projects and much more. Families with children of all ages and abilities are welcome. Materials are provided.

ECO FLOWER- PRINTING WORKSHOP
Come celebrate Mother’s Day with us!

An afternoon of champagne, snacks and art making with flowers!
During this workshop we will discover the wonders of natural dye while using the eco-dye technique.
Using local, seasonal flowers we will create beautiful colors and prints on natural fabrics and all leave with a hand dyed silk scarf. No prior art experience necessary! All supplies included.
