JEANETTE COLE ART CENTER & COLE CREATIVITY CENTER
Our best museum moments from the past week all come from the premiere of our newest exhibit, Sanctuary/Santuario: The 25th De Colores Art Show. Be sure to check out our upcoming events and classes where you can create your own memorable moments.
We’ve Got Shows on Every Floor
With the addition of the Museum’s new space, the Cole Creativity Center, we’ve been able to create more gallery space for exhibitions. Come and see our three current shows: Local Clay, The Natural World, and the new De Colores Art Show.
A Blessing in Every Direction
The premiere party for Sanctuary/Santuario: The 25th De Colores Art Show this past weekend began with a Blessing to the Four Directions. The ceremony was meant to call the community together and to acknowledge the significance of the event.
Xavier Montes Recognized…
This year’s De Colores Art Show marks the 25th anniversary of the exhibit. In recognition of that milestone, the show’s founder, Xavier Montes, was honored by the offices of California Congresswoman Julia Brownley and Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson.
…and Then He Was Outdanced
The premiere also included performances by young musicians and dancers from Inlakech Cultural Arts Center in Oxnard and Montes’ own De Colores music students. Montes was eventually outshone by one young dancer!
