Rabobank’s Brae Grensky to Serve as Chair of the 2018 Santa Barbara Heart Walk

Santa Barbara Heart & Stroke Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, September 29

SANTA BARBARA — Rabobank Assistant Vice President, Banking Services Manager Brae Grensky will serve as Chair of the American Heart Association’s 2018 Santa Barbara Heart & Stroke Walk/Run for the first time. In this role, she will be responsible for overseeing the American Heart Association’s “Healthy For Good” initiative with a key focus on bringing new leadership and company involvement to the Heart & Stroke Walk in September.

Brae has more than twenty years of banking experience. As a Banking Services Manager for Rabobank’s Santa Barbara’s Cottage branch, she is responsible for deposit and lending products. In addition, Brae also plans and implements business development programs, and represents the bank in community activities. Brae has been a Santa Barbara resident for thirty years. Brae commented, “I am honored to chair the American Heart Association 2018 Santa Barbara Heart & Stroke walk for both personal and business reasons.  My father is a recent survivor of a heart attack and had to have triple bypass surgery to save his life.  I have always strived to lead a healthy lifestyle, but I do know there are always improvements that can be made to ensure the quality of our lives in the forms of nutrition and consistent exercise.   This event is a reminder of that. I also believe that involving your work colleagues in health and wellness activities is a positive team building experience that benefits everyone.  That is what I hope to accomplish with our fundraising and the resulting engagement in the walk with my Rabobank team!”

The 2018 Santa Barbara Heart & Stroke Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort, 633 E. Cabrillo Boulevard. The 5K walk/non-competitive run encourages healthy eating habits while raising funds to support the AHA’s research and education efforts to fight heart disease and stroke – the nation’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers. Before the walk, participants are encouraged to explore the expo area including the Family Fun Zone, educational and sponsor booths and heart-healthy food and music. This year’s sponsors include Arthrex, Union Bank, Cottage Heart & Vascular Center, Karl Storz, MarBorg Industries, Montecito Bank & Trust, Sansum Clinic, Village Properties, Central Coast Home & Health Hospice and Casa Dorinda.

Heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are the leading killers in the United States, claiming the lives of more than 831,000 men, women and children every year. Heart Walks bring the community together to raise awareness and much-needed funds to fight these diseases. The American Heart Association is devoted to saving lives from heart disease and stroke by funding innovative research, setting best practices for improving patient care, fighting for stronger public health policies and providing lifesaving tools and information to prevent and treat the leading causes of death in the U.S.
