CSUCI Student Affairs earns national recognition for the fifth consecutive year

CAMARILLO — For the fifth consecutive year, CSU Channel Islands (CSUCI) has placed among the 2018 Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs.

The recognition comes from a national publication on higher education and diversity called “Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.” CSUCI is among 13 colleges and universities across the nation that made the list and the findings were published in the March 8 issue of the magazine.
“I am incredibly proud of the intentional and highly collaborative work being conducted within the Division of Student Affairs that has resulted in this honor,” said Genevieve Evans Taylor, Ed.D., CSUCI’s Interim Administrator in Charge of Student Affairs. “Members of our staff are deeply committed to an environment that is inclusive, dynamic and creative and one that places high value on diversity of voice, perspective and experience.”

With an eye toward workplace diversity, staffing practices and work environment, the research employs a web-based survey to measure such things as family friendliness; salary/benefits and professional development opportunities, to name a few.

Diverse honored the 13 recipients in partnership with the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) during the ACPA annual meeting March 11-14 in Houston, Texas.
