March 26 is the deadline to submit entries to the Teen Multimedia Contest being presented by the Social Justice Fund for Ventura County, the organization reported recently.
Open to teens 13 to 18 years of age, the winning work will be presented at The Four Friends Gallery in Thousand Oaks, with the winner receiving a first prize of $100.
The theme of the contest is: “What does Social Justice mean to you?”
“Express your answer in an ESSAY, POSTER, or VIDEO and enter the First Annual Social Justice Fund Teen Contest. Your original work should address a Social Justice issue by identifying the issue and imagining a positive change you would like to see. You may select your theme from something as broad as racial injustice or as specific as an unjust situation that you are aware of in your community,” the organization reported.
The first place winners will be presented at the “Creating a New Canvas for Social Justice” community event from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 1 at The Four Friends Gallery, 1408 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.
