At a Special Meeting of the SBCC Board of Trustees on Friday February 2, the Board voted to appoint Robert Miller to fill the vacancy for Trustee Area 2 – Goleta.
The Vacancy existed as a result of the resignation of Dr. Marianne Kugler on January 1, 2018. Robert Miller will be formally sworn in at the Board’s next regular meeting on February 8, 2018.
A current City of Goleta Planning Commissioner, Robert Miller, is actively involved in the Goleta community and brings a background as an attorney. In 2014, Mr. Miller created and headed the Westside Goleta Coalition to address neighborhood impacts in western Goleta. He is a steering committee member for The Goodland Coalition, President of his neighborhood HOA, and volunteers his time as a legal mediator for the Santa Barbara and Ventura County Superior Courts.
Mr. Miller will serve on the Board until the next regular election in November 2018. The seat will be up for election in November 2018 to fill the remainder of the term (through 2020).
