Make an ornament for your tree on Dec. 22. They’ll make one for a first responder/someone impacted by the Thomas Fire

CAMARILLO — KidSTREAM, an emerging children’s museum committed to bringing hands-on STEM learning to the Ventura County community is hosting a “Give and Get” 3-D Snowflake Ornament Workshop. Families are invited to bring their holiday spirit as they make 3-D snowflake ornaments at the kidSTREAM 3-D Snowflake Ornament Workshop 12-5 p.m. on Dec. 22 at the Camarillo Premium Outlet Center. The workshop will be in the grassy area in front of the Crocs outlet store, 740 Ventura Blvd., Camarillo. The workshop is co-sponsored by Cal State Channel Islands. They are providing the 3-D printers.

“We wanted to create an event that would engage children’s minds as well as inspire their giving spirit, as our community works to rebuild what has been lost,” said Kristie Akl, kidSTREAM’s board president. “In times like these, it is important to bring happiness and joy to everyone we can.”

There will be a table set up for children to write cards for first responders and those impacted by the recent Thomas Fire. Children and their families can create two ornaments: one to put on their tree and one kidSTREAM will donate to a first responder or someone impacted by the Thomas Fire.

Each month, kidSTREAM presents a free program as part of their community arts education outreach. For more information on future events and ongoing programs, visit www.kidstream.org.
